UpBeat – Guitar Hero Game For Learning To Type

Upbeat is a fun flash online game to be played in your web browser for learning how to type fast. The game is quite similar to the popular Guitar Hero (or Rock Band) music video game for the Playstation 2 or Xbox. Hit the keys displayed on the screen to keep the music playing – if you make a mistake, you will hear false notes and get a score penalty. A perfect and free fun game for kids to start learning touch typing!

  • I love upbeat! I can already touch type extremely well (given my profession) but I play it occasionally just for fun! My kids love it too and my 12 year old son can now type fast enough to pass some tests on transcription services websites!

  • One can create the love for music in the child’s mind from such nice music aids. If the child will learn to know his mistakes after hearing false notes and getting score penalty, he can learn to play it right very fast. In this it’s important to make the child handle the aid and as far as possible make him to interact on his own. Let the child play it on his freewill and you will see the results immediately. I am telling all this with my own experience.

My son loves this game. (And so do I. hehe.)

That is really good, it engages with children, and allows them to improve their skills, but it doesn’t seem like work. Excellent.

Thanks for showing this, it is a great idea, I will need to get my wee boy to try it!

  • Sam says:

This is a great idea, I like anything that makes learning fun and in the new digital age, being able to touch type is essential!
